Windows

I have a problem with my dvd writer on Windows Vista sp1. Vista try to format any disc I put into a dvd drive but no problem with Windows XP.

I found the way to solve this problem from http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3834528&SiteID=17 by disable Vista’s CD Burning:

1. Launch registry editor (Start Menu > Run > regedit.exe).
2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\CD Burning\Drives.
3. Select the corrent Volume subkey.
4. Find and modify the IsImapiDataBurnSupported DWORD to 0.
5. Close the registry editor.

This problem occur to me when install custom build windows xp sp3 slipstream include ie7.
by default ie7 set local intranet security to automatic to solve this problem by uncheck automatic and check all checkbox under automatic detect intranet network.

1. Install Windows Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 แต่ต้องมี IIS ด้วย
2. เปิด command prompt แล้วพิมพ์

>C: <enter>
>CD “\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual Server\Vhdmount” <enter>
>vhdmount /m “…path to your vhd file…\MyVhd.vhd” M <enter>
{m=”" คือ=”" drive=”" ที่ต้องการจะให้=”" mount}

3. เสร็จเรียบร้อย

ข้อควรจำ: เมื่อ restart drive ที่ mount ไว้ก็จะหายไป

5. Select Enable option, Press OK.
6. Refresh Desktop, That’s it.

To Show Recycle Bin Icon on Desktop, Do the same steps but instead of Enable select Not Configured.

When you slipstream Service Pack 3 into your Office 2003
installation point, Office 2003 will be installed at Service Pack 3
level saving you the trouble of applying it afterwards. All you need is
Office 2003 Service Pack 3 and the installation CD of Office 2003.

  1. Download the administrative version of Office 2003 SP3 and save it to C:\ (click here for a different language than English)
  2. Extract the Office2003SP3-KB923618-FullFile-ENU.exe file to C:\o2k3sp3a
    Start-> Run and type;
    C:\Office2003SP3-KB923618-FullFile-ENU.exe /t:c:\o2k3sp3a /c
  3. Insert your Office 2003 CD and make an administrative installation point to C:\o2k3
    To do this open the Run command again and type;
    D:\setup.exe /a (where D:\ is your CD-ROM drive)
  4. When the installation point is created open the Run command again and type*:
    msiexec /a C:\o2k3\pro.msi /p C:\o2k3sp3a\MAINSP3.msp
  5. When the update is finished you can write the content of C:\o2k3 to CD and you’ll have an Office 2003 SP3 slipstreamed CD!

Note 1: You can append /qb+ to the preceding
command line to avoid receiving the Office 2003 Administrative
Installation dialog box and the End User License Agreement dialog box.
Note 2: You can follow these instructions as well to include the hotfixes

*Replace with your msi name. Just a quick list to get the idea;
pro.msi          = Office 2003 Professional
proret.msi      = Office 2003 Professional Retail
std.msi          = Office 2003 Standard
stdret.msi      = Office 2003 Standard Retail
sberet.msi     = Office 2003 Small Business Retail

If it ends with tri it is a trial edition; protri.msi
